Swift Horse Trading is a family-run apparel manufacturer founded in 2024 in Humen, Dongguan — one of the historic centers of China's garment industry. The company brings together two generations: David Yi leads design and client development, working directly with brand owners from the first sketch to the tech-pack review, in English. His father — a traditional apprentice-trained tailor with thirty years on the factory floor — leads production and quality control.
We are a young company. The hands behind it are not new to this work — thirty years of pattern making, sewing, finishing, and the kind of QC that only comes from cutting thousands of samples and seeing what comes back from customers.
We started Swift Horse because too many small and growing brands — the ones with strong designs and real customers — were being turned away by large factories that only want thousand-piece runs, or were being passed through sales reps who could not answer a pattern question. With us, the person you talk to about your design is the same family that makes sure your sample and your bulk come out right.
Four things we do differently from a typical large factory.
We work with brands at the size you actually are — from your first 50 pieces to your thousandth. No forced minimums that lock you into inventory you cannot move. If you need a re-order of 30, we will quote 30.
Most sample rounds ship within two weeks. We work in parallel: fabric sourcing, pattern making, and first sample at the same time. We send progress photos at every step, not just the finished sample.
You talk to the person running your project — not a sales rep, not a call center, not a translator. David himself answers your messages in English, fast and direct.
Itemized quote within 24 hours. Fabric, trims, labor, finishing, and packaging — all broken out. No hidden fees, no surprise upcharges at sampling. What we quote is what you pay.
We are not trying to be the biggest clothing factory in China. We are trying to be the best one for the brands we choose to work with.
That means going deep on a focused set of categories — starting with structured knit dresses, V-neck and A-line silhouettes, and similar pieces where fit, finish, and construction quality are the whole game. We are not interested in taking every order that comes in. We are interested in getting very good at a few things, and being honest with you about what we can and cannot do well.
